Arkab’s participation in this ministerial meeting, which brings together Algeria, Tunisia, Italy, Germany and Austria, follows a joint invitation from the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, and the Italian Minister of Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin.

The minister will be accompanied by a high-level delegation composed of the Secretary of State to the Minister of Energy, in charge of Renewable Energy, Noureddine Yassaa, and the CEOs of “Sonatrach” and “Sonelgaz” groups, respectively Rachid Hachichi and Mourad Adjal, as well as several sector executives.

The meeting, which will include the European Commission and Switzerland as observers, aims to enhance cooperation in renewable energy and green hydrogen development among countries participating in the SoutH2 Corridor project, which represents a cornerstone in the participating countries’ strategy for energy transition and the shift toward a green, sustainable economy,” said the same source.

Through this participation, “Algeria renews its commitment to strengthen regional and international cooperation to achieve clean energy and sustainable development objectives, which mirrors its ambitious vision to be a key partner in international efforts to address climate challenges and ensure energy security for all,” said the same source.

On the sidelines of this ministerial meeting, a business forum will bring together companies from the concerned countries to develop a roadmap including the next steps towards the achievement of this ambitious project.
