These talks took place on the sidelines of workshops and ministerial sessions organized on the eve of the African Heads of State Summit on Energy, scheduled for Tuesday in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), in the presence of Algeria’s ambassador to Tanzania and ministry officials.

The meeting was also an opportunity to review ways of strengthening cooperation between African countries, particularly through the “Mission 300” initiative which aims to provide energy to 300 million people in Africa by 2030, said the same source.

In this respect, Arkab reiterated Algeria’s willingness to strengthen relations between the two friendly countries, and to intensify exchanges with African countries, particularly as part of the development strategy of Sonatrach and Sonelgaz Groups, aiming to open up to the African market, affirming Algeria’s readiness to support Tanzania and accompany it with its expertise in this field.

For his part, the Tanzanian minister expressed his country’s major interest in developing and strengthening cooperative relations with Algeria, particularly through the participation of Sonatrach and Sonelgaz in the development of Tanzania’s energy sector, and by promoting mutually beneficial partnership in oil, gas and electrical industries, as well as through the use of Algerian equipment in this field.
