The signing ceremony took place at the National Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (Algex), under the supervision of the Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Mohamed Boukhari, the Minister of Transport, Said Sayoud, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, Youcef Cherfa, and the Advisor to the President of the Republic, in charge of trade, supply, control and import-export, Kamel Rezig, as well as the Ambassador of Algeria to Mauritania, Amine Sid, the Ambassador of Mauritania to Algeria, Sidi Mohamed Abdallahe, and the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Algeria, Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Bussairy.
Nine contracts were signed between Algerian and Mauritanian economic operators, notably concerning the export of agricultural products, construction materials, household appliances, detergents and electrical equipment, as well as pharmaceutical and Para pharmaceutical products.
Another contract was also signed for the export of Algerian agricultural products to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which will be a destination for other Algerian goods after the opening of a new air route for export.
In a speech delivered on this occasion, Boukhari affirmed that the signing of these contracts and the approval of a series of facilities for exporters is part of measures taken by the State to diversify the economy and increase the volume of non-hydrocarbon exports.
For his part, the Saudi ambassador indicated in a statement to the press that the new line for exporting goods between Algeria and Saudi Arabia will bring added value to economic activity between the two countries, particularly after the creation of the Algerian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council in 2023.
