Energy consumption: President Tebboune highlights importance of rationalisation

ALGIERS- The president of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune stressed, in a Council of Ministers meeting he chaired on Sunday, the importance of a forward-looking approach and the rationalisation of energy consumption, by the adoption of a new method of regulation.

control based on in-depth studies to find integrated solutions preserving energy, to use it in the development of different industries, while investing in new energies, such as green hydrogen and solar energy, of which Algeria has great potential," the Council of ministers statement said.

The president of the Republic also instructed the government to "develop an overall vision for the short and medium term, or even a long term, according to a scientific approach preserving the purchasing power in terms of energy consumption, by increasing energy investments and combating all forms of waste," according to the statement.
