Following a presentation on trends in domestic consumption of gas and oil products, the president of the Republic "stressed the importance of a forward-looking approach and the rationalisation of the consumption of energy, whose production is increasing through the adoption of a new method of regulation and

control based on in-depth studies to find integrated solutions preserving energy, to use it in the development of different industries, while investing in new energies, such as green hydrogen and solar energy, of which Algeria has great potential," the Council of ministers statement said.

The president of the Republic also instructed the government to "develop an overall vision for the short and medium term, or even a long term, according to a scientific approach preserving the purchasing power in terms of energy consumption, by increasing energy investments and combating all forms of waste," according to the statement.
