“During this meeting, the two parties discussed the next operational steps, particularly regarding the planning of exploration work and evaluation of the oil and gas potential of the region. The discussions also focused on best practices in exploration technologies and sustainable development, in compliance with current environmental standards,” said the same source.

This meeting serves as “a new stage in strengthening energy cooperation between Algeria and China,” Beldjehem reiterated “Alnaft’s commitment to supporting this ambitious project, which aligns with national goals of maximizing the valorisation of hydrocarbon resources and attracting foreign investments in the energy sector,” added Alnaft.

Constituting “a new step in strengthening bilateral relations between Algeria and China, while opening promising prospects for the development of the Algerian energy sector,” the visit of the high-level delegation from Sinopec follows the recent signing of the strategic contract between Sonatrach and Sinopec for the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in the North Hassi Berkane exploration zone.”
