Larbaoui receives Director General, Chairman of AMF’s Board of Directors

ALGIERS-The Prime Minister, Nadir Larbaoui received, Thursday at the Government Palace, Dr. Fahad Bin Mohamed Alturki, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF), who is on a working visit to Algeria, the Prime Minister’s office said in a press release.

This meeting, which took place in the presence of the Minister of Finance, Abdelkrim Bouzred, reviewed the relations between Algeria and the AMF, as well as the various aspects of cooperation and joint activities in many financial fields.

The two parties highly commended “the special attention given by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to strengthening joint Arab action and supporting its financing institutions, particularly his call during the Arab summit held on 1 November 2022, in Algiers, for the mobilization of Arab financing capacities, especially the AMF and existing Arab funds, to help member countries in urgent need of assistance to overcome difficult conditions.”

In this respect, the two parties discussed the AMF’s new strategy and its options aimed at addressing economic and financial changes and challenges in the Arab region and improving the Fund’s response conditions, in addition to the importance of optimal utilization of available resources to enhance the Fund’s role as an important financial institution for supporting sustainable development in member countries.
