The meeting was "an opportunity to highlight fraternal relations between the two countries and the two peoples, and commend the level of bilateral cooperation achieved thanks to the guidelines of the leaders of the two countries," the statement said.

It was also an opportunity to "exchange views on the prospects of the development of Algerian Mauritanian partnership in different areas, mainly through the promotion of trade and investments and the completion of the integration projects between the two sides."
