Para-powerlifting (World Cup-2023): Gold medal for Algeria's Hocine Bettir in Cairo

ALGIERS-Algerian para-powerlifter Hocine Bettir won a gold medal in Cairo on Friday at the World Para-powerlifting Cup (men's and women's), which runs until Sunday, with the participation of 70 athletes from 12 countries, including six Algerians, according to his trainer Mohamed Salah Eddine Benatta.

Competing in the -65kg category, Bettir lifted the 190kg bar on his 1st attempt to claim the supreme title, ahead of Egypt's Ahmed Abdelathim Mondy (120kg) and Namibia's Kamenye Kapuma (75kg).[/ecr]
