“Thanks be to Allah for this title secured through the efforts made in the season of 2023. I am so proud of this title, especially since the competition was tight with several names who excelled this season like my teammate Sedjati and the judoka Driss Messaoud. I would like to thank APS for bringing back this poll, which was absent since 2019. This poll is proof of the agency’s interest in sports and its desire to encourage athletes. I also thank all the media outlets which voted for me,” Moula said to APS.
The middle distance champion said that this title will be, in a way, a positive pressure for the new season, during which he must go the extra mile to achieve better results. “I admit that this title will be a positive pressure for me in the next season, since I aim to prove my title of best athlete, although the competition will be very tough. Honestly, this poll will be a real stimulus for athletes to keep working and shining, nationally and internationally,” he said.
Moula, who was born in Tizi-Ouzou, clinched several titles in the 2023 sports season, including two gold medals at the Algiers Arab Games in the 800m and 4x400m. He also won the Diamond League in the 800m race in Doha. He also finished sixth in the final of 2023 World Championships in Budapest.[/ecr]
