Gymnastics World Cup in Baku: Algerian Kaylia Nemour wins uneven bars gold medal

BAKU (Azerbaijan)- Algerian gymnast Kaylia Nemour won Saturday the gold medal in the uneven bars event of the third stage of the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup 2024 (March 7-10), being held in the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The 17-year-old Algerian, who is already qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, achieved a perfect performance that allowed her to lead the rankings, with a score of 15,433, the same performance she had achieved in the second stage, at Cottbus, Germany, also snatching a gold medal.

The Algerian champion ranks first ahead of Italian Elisa Lorio (14,300) and American Katelyn Jong (13,733).

Kaylia Nemour has also qualified for the finals of the balance beam event (with a score of 14,533) and the floor event (13,166).

More than 250 gymnasts, including ten world champions, from 69 nations are competing in the third stage of the Gymnastics World Cup, made up of four, according to the organizers.
