Judo/African Games: Algeria finishes second with 5 medals, including 2 gold  

ACCRA-The Algerian judo team (men and women) ranked second in the All-Africa Games-2023 in Accra, Ghana (March 8-23, 2024), with a total of five medals (2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze).

First place went to Tunisia, with 15 medals (5 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze), and third place went to Senegal, with 4 medals (1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze).

The Algerian medals went to Amina Belkadi, who was crowned champion in the -63kg category. This was the only medal won by the women's selection, as her other compatriots settled for 5th and 7th place.

Judoka Lili Mohamed El Mehdi offered Algeria its only gold medal in the men's +100kg category, beating Senegal's Ndiaye Mbognick in the final.[/ecr]
