Tatar Zohra claimed the only gold medal of the day in the hammer throw event with a throw of 69.65 m, delivering an excellent performance that allowed her to beat the national and Arab records, and achieve the best performance in the history of the African Games.
The three silver medals were won by Zouina Bouzebra, who won the silver medal in the hammer throw with a throw of 68.97 m, achieving her personal best performance, Oussama Khenoussi in the discus throw competition with a throw of 59.97 m, and Amine Bouanani in the 110-meter hurdles (13.69).
In the overall medal count, Algeria ranks fourth with a total of 96 medals (23 gold, 33 silver, and 40 bronze). Egypt leads the pack with a haul of 165 medals (92 gold, 40 silver, and 33 bronze), ahead of Nigeria with 85 medals (31 gold, 22 silver, and 32 bronze) and South Africa with 95 medals (28 gold, 29 silver, and 38 bronze).
