In an interview with APS, the minister said "support for elite athletes, including those with Athletes with specific needs, has begun immediately after the end of the Mediterranean Games 2022, hosted by Oran, in line with the firm instruction of the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to provide an effective support to elite athletes allowing them to prepare well for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris."

"The instructions were reiterated in the latest Council of ministers meeting."

After congratulating 32 Algerian athletes qualified so far for the Olympics in Paris, the minister said "all resources have been made available to sports federations since 2022, through training sessions in Algeria or abroad and financial support to athletes so that they may compete in a maximum of international events and get the highest number possible of points enabling them to qualify for the Olympics in Paris."

The ministry of Youth and Sports put forward the role of the Algerian Sports and Olympic Committee in backing elite athletes in the qualification process and helping them in the logistics preparation for this major sporting event.

Hammad said that "the Algerian State attaches a special interest" to the Olympic Games in Paris, "for which it provides support at the highest level."
