The general manager of the African Confederation, Tunisian Hichem Riani, believes that Algeria will once again meet the challenge of a successful ITF/CAT African U16 Tennis Championship to be hosted by Algiers (15-20 April 2024), at the Tennis Club of Bashjarah.

Algeria, according to him, will "meet all the necessary requirements to make it an African tennis party and a big success in terms of organisation."

"Algeria is hosting for the second year in a row the African U16 Tennis Championship. The organizational success of the previous edition (2023) is behind the decision, especially as Algeria has once again met all the necessary conditions for the success of the event, mainly in terms of accommodation, hospitality and tennis infrastructure as well as the quality of the selected official referees," Hichem Riani told APS.

The manager of the CAT explained that the continental body usually grants the organization of such events to the same country for two successive years, mainly "if the relevant conditions are respected and this is the case of Algeria in 2023."

Algeria "is one of the leading countries in African sport in general, and tennis in particular."
