Courts Mammouth Classic Mauritius: Youcef Reguigui finishes 2nd

PORT-LOUIS - Algerian cyclist Youcef Reguigui, a member of Malaysia's Terengganu Cycling Team, finished second in the 140.7-kilometre Courts Mammouth Classique road race in Mauritius on Sunday.

Algerian rider, the defending champion, clocked 3:21.56, behind Poland's Patryk Stoz, who won the race in a sprint and was given the same credit.

The three Algerians taking part in this race - Hamza Amari (Madar Pro-Team), Azzedine Lagab (Madar Pro-Team), Nassim Saïdi (Madar Pro-Team), El-Khacib Sassane (national team), Ashraf Ferhat (national team) and Bachir Chennafi (national team) - had widely varying results.

Hamza Amari finished 11th, 4 hundredths of a second behind the leader, while Azzedine Lagab finished 16th (5 seconds behind). Nassim Saïdi, El-Khacib Sassane, Ashraf Ferhat and Bachir Chennafi rounded off the race in 19th, 21st, 27th and 32nd place respectively.

This race comes two days after the end of the 43rd Mauritius Tour, won by Poland's Piotr Brozyna of the Team Felt Felbermayr team (10:00:50), ahead of Mauritian Alexandre Mayer of the Saint Piran team (10:03:20), and Cypriot Andreas Miltiadis of the Malaysian Terengganu Cycling Team (10:03:58).
