WARSAW – The Algerian middle-distance runner Mohamed Ali Gouaned secured a win in the 800 meters at an international athletics meeting in Poland on Sunday afternoon, clocking in at 1:44.60, while his young compatriot Haithem Chenitef finished fourth with a time of 1:45.51

Rounding out the podium were Dutch runner Ryan Clark, who finished second with a time of 1:45.03, and Czech athlete Jakub Dudycha, who took third place, clocking in at 1:45.14.

This marks a slight dip in performance for the Biskra-born athlete, who had clocked 1:44.37 in the 800 meters at another Polish meeting last Thursday. That run had set a new personal record for the Algerian star, achieved barely a month before the 2024 Olympics kick off.
