While waiting for the results of the 5th day events, Algeria currently holds the third place in the overall ranking with a total of 7 medals (3 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze). Nigeria ranks first with 11 medals (3 gold, 4silver, 4 bronze), then South Africa with 8 medals (3 gold, 3silver, 2 bronze).
Algeria’s three gold medals were harvested by Oussama Khennoussi (discus throw), Zahra Tatar (hammer throw) and Larbi Bouraada (decathlon).
The previous silver medal was snatched by Cherif Boudoumi (decathlon), while the two other bronze medals were secured by Zouina Bouzabra (hammer throw) and Abdelmalik Lahoulou (400m/hurdles)
Algeria participated in the 23rd edition of the Athletics Seniors African Championship (21-26 June) with a total of 20 athletes ( 15 males and 5 females).[/ecr]
