In a speech delivered on Baddari’s behalf by Assia Sahraoui, Director of Student Life Activities at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, at the opening of the 3rd National University Sports Forum in Oran, the minister noted that “since the national technical meeting at the University of Medea in October 2023, university sports has witnessed a revival, thanks to the President of the Republic.”

“President Tebboune attaches special interest to university sports, as it is part of his commitments he reiterated during his recent meeting with the university community at Sidi Abdallah university hub in Algiers,” the minister went on to note.

He added, “Developing and diversifying university sports has been a key objective, achieved through a strategic plan developed by the ministry. This plan is based on five core pillars, which fully meet the commitments of the President of the Republic and his directives in the different ministers’ councils.”

The same official also pointed out that “the objective set for the Algerian university sports is to become a talent pool for national teams in different sports disciplines.”
