U16 North African Championship: Ten medals for Algeria, including five gold

ALGIERS- The Algerian Athletic team clinched ten medals, including five gold, on the first day of the U16 North African Championship, held Thursday in Aïn Drahem (Tunisia).

The gold medals were grabbed by Anes Bounacer in the 80 meters event, Laïth Ben Charef (long jump), Malak Ben Khider (pole vault), Salsabyl Bounemer  (80 meters/ sprint), and Hala Mefti Khadidja in the long jump event.

As for the other five medals, Aymen Guidoul won a silver medal in 3000 meters/walk, whereas Youcef Mustapha and Meriem Belkacemi won the bronze medal in shot put.

Elyssa Djemaï and Zakaria Djaoui also won Algeria’s bronze medals in the 200 meters and high jump events, respectively.[/ecr]
