The Algerian team, led by Bosnian coach Vladimir Petkovic, has climbed five spots from its previous ranking (46th). This is thanks to the last two victories in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) qualifications against Equatorial Guinea (2-0) and Liberia (3-0), in the first and second matches of Group E.

In the African rankings, Algeria maintains its 7th position, ahead of Cameroon (53rd globally), Mali (54th), and DR Congo (58th).[/ecr]
