Hammad calls to organize workshops to improve vacation, leisure centre management

ALGIERS - The Minister of Youth and Sports, Abderrahmane Hammad on Monday, in Algiers, called on the youth and sport directors to organize workshops with players across the country in order to improve the management of vacation and leisure centres.

In a speech delivered during the national meeting for the global evaluation of the activity of vacation and leisure centres for young people for the year 2024, Hammad said that this meeting “aims not only to evaluate the summer season campaign, but also to invite actors and partners to pursue a participatory approach in organizing the summer season campaign, while developing prospective plans tending to improve performance.”

He also emphasized "the need to preserve the obtained achievements while expanding the planned programs to include the greatest possible number of young people from all regions of the country."

The minister praised the efforts made by members of the National Committee for the preparation, monitoring, and evaluation of the campaign of youth vacation and leisure centres, as well as the executives of the sector and the vacation centres, with the aim of “ensuring the success of the summer campaign by implementing all the necessary pedagogical, educational, security, health, and transportation means for the children's comfort.”

He expressed satisfaction with “the good care” provided to the children of the Algerian community living abroad, recalling that nearly 2,000 children from this community have benefited from summer camp vacations organized by the sector.[/ecr]
