Former national coach Mahieddine Khalef buried in El Alia cemetery

ALGIERS-The former national football coach, Mahieddine Khalef, who died Tuesday at the age of 80, was buried Wednesday in El Alia cemetery after performing the Dohr prayer.

The deceased was accompanied to his final resting place by the Minister of Sports, Walid Sadi, presidents of football clubs, athletes, members of his family, close friends and a large crowd of citizens.

In this respect, Sadi paid a vibrant tribute to the deceased, “a great figure of national football and one of its most emblematic figures.”

The colleagues and friends of the deceased unanimously praised the qualities of the late individual, who, they said, will leave a great void in their hearts, praying to the Almighty God to welcome him into His vast paradise and to grant his loved ones courage and comfort.
