ALGIERS — Algeria's Mohamed Benyettou qualified for the World Half Marathon Championships, set to take place on September 19-20 in Copenhagen (Denmark), after achieving the necessary qualifying standards at the Lisbon Half Marathon in Portugal.

The race was won by Djibouti's Abdi Waiss Mouhyadin, who finished the distance in 59:44, followed by Kenyan Shadrack Kipkemei in second place with 59:49, while another Djibouti runner, Mohamed Ismail, rounded out the podium with a time of 59:54.

Benyettou finished 11th with a time of 1h01:13, but this performance met the qualifying standard for the upcoming World Championships.
