President Tebboune calls for enshrining principle of “African solutions to African problems”

ACCRA — The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune reaffirmed on Sunday the need to enshrine the principle of “African solutions to African problems” by ramping up the joint efforts of the member states of the African Union (AU).

During the 6th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting between the AU, the Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and the Regional Mechanisms, held in Accra, Ghana, Prime Minister, Nadir Larbaoui delivered a speech on behalf of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

President Tebboune underscored “the need to enshrine the principle of +African solutions to African problems+ by ramping up the joint efforts of AU member states and leveraging their collective capabilities to address fast-paced global developments and mounting internal crises across the continent.”

This principle, set by the founding fathers of the continental organization, has been and remains a strategic objective. It requires bolstering the continental architecture of peace and security” by “fully activating all conflict prevention and resolution mechanisms, especially the African Standby Force (ASF), so as to effectively tackle present-day challenges,” the President of the Republic noted.
