During a press conference at the ministry’s headquarters on the current foreign policy files, Attaf said that “when it comes to colonization issue in general and the French colonization in particular, I am among those who advocate for collective international action so that we, as African and non-African countries, take the initiative to criminalize colonization at international organizations.”

 “There is an initiative at the African Union for criminalizing colonization at the UN. Algeria will be among its first defenders,” said the minister, emphasizing that the upcoming African summit will address this file and take decisions in this regard.

  The initiative will have a broader and stronger impact as part of a “collective action as Africans, given that the continent has suffered from colonialism," Attaf concluded.[/ecr]
