JEDDAH- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has called for urgent investigations into the violations committed by the Zionist occupation authorities against several Palestinian prisoners, Wafa news agency said Friday.

The call was made as a result of horrific testimonies by Palestinian prisoners, released Thursday by the Zionist occupation authorities, about the different torture methods used against them in the basements of prisons after their arrest in the Gaza Strip.

The OIC, in a statement relayed by Wafa, voiced "deep concern regarding the increased violent acts and severe violations committed by the (Zionist) occupation against numerous Palestinian prisoners."

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation said "the violations have been well-documented by various legal entities and include acts such as execution, torture, starvation, rape, isolation and forced disappearance."

It underlined that "the detainees from the Gaza Strip have been particularly affected, resulting in the deaths of eighteen Gazan prisoners in (Zionist) occupation prisons since October 7, 2023."

In addition, "there are many other detainees killed, but their identities have not yet been disclosed."
