"Algeria shares entirely the concerns expressed by the United Nations about the recent mobilisation of forces in various Libyan regions, and especially towards the southern and western regions," the ministry's statement said.

"With the number, diversity and complexity of obstacles facing the search for a peaceful settlement of the serious crisis in this brotherly country, the end of the fratricidal confrontations is a precious asset that must be preserved at all costs."

"As a consequence, Algeria calls on all Libyan parties to exert wisdom and restraint to spare their country and their people the tragic impact of the resumption of clashes, whose first victims are the peaceful solution to the crisis, inter-Libyan reconciliation, the reunification of institutions, and mainly security institutions, a halt to foreign interference and the advent of a new era of security, stability and prosperity in Libya," the ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
