Gaza: Zionist attacks on UNRWA schools claim over 500 lives

GAZA — More than 500 Palestinians have died as martyrs in Zionist attacks against schools belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Gaza since 7 October 2023.

UNRWA reported in a statement that “190 UNRWA facilities or centers have been partially or completely destroyed by Zionist attacks.”

Inas Hamdan, the deputy director of UNRWA's media office in Gaza, described this figure as “shocking” in statements to the press.

Hamdan noted that “at least 563 people have been killed and 1,790 people wounded in attacks on UNRWA schools” since the beginning of the Zionist aggression.

Stating that 220 UNRWA staff members who provided health and food aid to people displaced as a result of Zionist attacks have been killed so far, Hamdan warned that “the humanitarian situation in Gaza would deteriorate further if the safe environment necessary for UNRWA to continue its operations is not guaranteed.”
