The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, is participating as the representative of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Organized by the UN General Assembly, the two-day Summit, which will be held before the UNGA annual high-level debate, will be crowned by the adoption of a Pact for the Future, which will include as an annex, a Global Digital Compact and a Declaration on Future Generations. It was preceded on September 20 and 21 by days of action to create more opportunities for the involvement of all actors.
"The Summit of the Future is designed to allow the world’s leaders to examine the entire global architecture and how we cooperate internationally, and to improve it," said Michèle Griffin, Director of the Summit of the Future, in a video message.
The summit, which includes participation from civil society and the private sector, will culminate in the signing of three agreements, namely: a Pact for the Future, a Global Digital Compact, and a Declaration on Future Generations.
The action-oriented "Pact for the Future" will be adopted by consensus during the event, emphasizing the global solidarity for current and future generations and reaffirming countries' commitment to coordinated action.
Representing the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, will participate in the Summit of the Future. He will also take part in the general debate of the General Assembly, scheduled from September 24 to 30 on the theme "Acting together for peace, sustainable development and human dignity for present and future generations."
