IPU: Deputy Bouchouit calls to support emergency clause on Palestine

ALGIERS-The Deputy of the People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament), Mohamed Anouar Bouchouit, insisted Saturday, in Geneva (Switzerland), on the need to mobilize support around the emergency clause on Palestine, during his participation in the working committee meeting as part of the meetings of the 149th Inter-Parliamentary Union General Assembly (IPU), the Lower House said in a press release.

During his participation as a representative member of Algeria at the working committee meeting stemmed from the coordination meeting of the Arab Parliamentary Group, Bouchouit emphasized the necessity of “coordinating with the States that voted in favour of the emergency clause on Palestine during the previous session,” highlighting the importance of “preserving the gains and working to obtain new votes in favour of this clause.”

The meeting was chaired by the chairman of the Consultative Assembly of Oman, being the chairman of the committee comprising Algeria, Palestine, Jordan, Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman, said the same source.[/ecr]
