[ECR] In a speech delivered at the annual conference of external relations, reported by the Sahrawi Press Agency (SPS), Ghali said that “the frenetic attempts of the Moroccan occupier and its supporters, aimed at undermining the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination or opposing the position of the Polisario Front, the legitimate and sole representative of the Sahrawi people, have failed to weaken the Sahrawi cause as a decolonization issue.”
"The year 2024 was marked by dangerous developments at both international and regional scenes leading to very alarming situations, with flagrant violations of international law, thus threatening the foundations of the established international order," he said.
However, the year 2025 will mark the 5th anniversary of the Moroccan military occupation’s invasion of Western Sahara, as well as crimes against humanity, murders, displacements, struggles, attempts of genocide, and the use of weapons banned at the international level which are aimed at destroying the Sahrawi people as an identity and entity,” added the Sahrawi President.
Ghali further welcomed the level of “privileged” relations linking the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic to Algeria. [/ecr]
