Genocide in Gaza: Cuba joins South Africa’s proceedings against Zionist entity

THE HAGUE - The International Court of Justice (ICJ) announced that Cuba has filed a declaration of intervention in South Africa's case against the Zionist entity regarding the application of the Genocide Convention in Gaza.

 [ecr] “Invoking Article 63 of the Court's Statute, Cuba has filed with the Court's Registry a declaration of intervention in the case concerning the application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in the Gaza Strip,” the ICJ said Monday in a press release.

In December 2023, South Africa initiated proceedings against the Zionist entity for its war crimes and crimes against humanity against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Several countries have since joined the case, including Nicaragua, Colombia, Libya, Mexico, Palestine, Spain, and Turkey.[/ecr]
