Algeria chairs UN Security Council meeting on Middle East, Palestinian issue

NEW YORK (United Nations)-The Security Council ministerial meeting dedicated to “the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue” started on Monday with Algeria chairing the session.

Charged by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, chairs this meeting which will mark the opening, at the UN Security Council, of the quarterly debate on the issue.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres who participates in this meeting, is expected to deliver a speech regarding the situation in the Middle East and Palestine.

The ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas, and the Zionist entity, which came into effect Sunday, should be a central point of the meeting.
