Arab Parliamentary Conference strongly condemns any forced displacement of Palestinians

CAIRO- The 7th Conference of the Arab Parliament (AP) and presidents of Arab Assemblies and Parliaments reaffirmed, Saturday, its total and categorical rejection of any form of forced displacement of the Palestinian people from their land, qualifying any initiative or proposal in this direction as a crime against humanity, a crime of ethnic cleansing, an infringement of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and a violation of international law and international humanitarian law.

The conference expressed “total and categorical rejection of any form of forced displacement of the Palestinian people from their historical land, including statements by US President Donald Trump regarding the mass deportation of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip,” qualifying “any initiative or proposal in this direction as a crime against humanity, a crime of ethnic cleansing, an infringement of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and a breach of international charters and conventions.”

It also reiterated “its categorical rejection of the Zionist entity’s plans to annex the occupied West Bank and all other plans aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause.”

Convinced of the importance of unifying the Arab rank to counter Zionist plans, the Conference adopted “an Arab parliamentary charter, aimed at supporting the resistance of the Palestinian people on their land, rejecting forced displacement and annexation plans, and opposing attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause,” which charter will be submitted to Arab heads of state during the extraordinary summit scheduled for March 4 in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
