Acting Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Sigrid Kaag will present a paper at the meeting, during which the Security Council members are due to stress the importance of fully and effectively implementing the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
The situation in the West Ban,k where the Zionist occupation forces stormed the city of Jenine making 51 martyrs, including seven children, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), is also on agenda.
In their assault against Jenine, the occupation forces have destroyed residential buildings and essential facilities, including water and wastewater systems, leading to the displacement of 40,000 Palestinians, considered as the longest Zionist military operation in the West Bank since early 2000s.
During a consultation meeting held on February 4th behind closed doors, Sigrid Kaag informed the Security Council members on the situation in the West Bank, and expressed concerns over the Zionist military tactics in the region, which, she said, are more and more similar to those used in the Zionist genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.
