AIPU condemns Zionist entity’s blockade of humanitarian aid entry into Gaza

ALGIERS-The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) strongly condemned, on Monday, the Zionist entity’s blockade of humanitarian aid entry into the Gaza Strip, describing this decision as a “flagrant violation of international humanitarian law,” a “blatant breach of ceasefire agreements,” and a “shameless infringement of international conventions and treaties.”

In a statement issued by its President, Brahim Boughali, who is also the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament), the AIPU reiterated its “firm opposition” to using humanitarian aid as “a political bargaining chip and a weapon to starve millions of civilians.”

This comes amid “the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where people are enduring catastrophic conditions that have become unbearable, particularly during this sacred month.”

In face of this alarming escalation, the AIPU “urges the international community to fulfil its legal and humanitarian obligations and take immediate action to pressure the Zionist entity to guarantee the safe, continuous, and unrestricted flow of aid into Gaza. This is essential to ease the suffering of the Palestinian people, who are enduring severe blockade and starvation, in direct defiance of fundamental humanitarian principles.”
