After a presentation on the container and metal terminal project during a working visit to the province, accompanied by Minister of Public Works, Hydraulics and Basic Infrastructure, Lakhdar Rekhroukh, Beldjoud said that the five-year issue between the two parties “must be resolved before the end of this year, and firm measures will be taken against the person responsible for the delay.”

“The terminal container is the lung of the port and of the national economy,” said the minister.

“The government is particularly interested in this project in terms of its positive impacts and its real profit in the future,” he added

The project manager of Djendjen port and the South Korean partner Hyundai “are committed to finding solutions to the current situation in a few days,” otherwise the contract will be terminated and the construction company will be replaced by other local companies, especially as there is not much left to complete the project,” concluded the minister.
