[ecr] Chairing a meeting with the players of the civil society at the youth centre of the commune of In Salah at the end of his visit to the province where he was accompanied by Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Affairs Kaoutar Krikou, Merad underlined that “the State will provide a permanent support to the new southern provinces to enable them to achieve the economic takeoff and development,” adding that “the field visits paid to the new provinces aim to ensure that the latter, called to become a decision-making centre in the future, will fully carry out their missions.”
He said that an exhaustive report will be submitted to the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune on the potentials of the new provinces and ways to develop them, citing “the launch of new projects for these provinces in various fields.”
In his reply to the concerns on the creation of a university centre in In Salah and on enabling the investors and farmers to expand their activities, and the increase in rural housing quota, Merad said that these requests are “objective and reasonable,” announcing that an amount of 129 billion centimes will be destined to the promotion of the local development in the province of In Salah.
The minister called to back investment in this province which has huge potential in agriculture , likely to contribute to the State’s efforts aimed to achieve self-sufficiency,” Merad underlined “the growing interest for the knowledge economy and startups, hence the need for young people to steer towards this field.” [/ecr]
