This meeting, initiated by the Department of Human Sciences of Mustapha Stambouli University in Mascara, will tackle several themes, including “Emir Abdelkader vision for modernity,” “the positions of local tribes on Emir Abdelkader's project,” and “Emir Abdelkader and the city residents,” in addition to others, the head of the colloquium organization committee, Rezki Abderrahmane, said to Algeria Press Service.
This two-day meeting will witness the participation of academics and researchers on Algeria’s modern and contemporary history, from over 30 universities across the country, organizers said.
The aim behind organizing this meeting is to shed light on new insights in the historical writing, focusing on other aspects of the personality and history of Emir Abdelkader, particularly his vision in the organization of policymaking, modern State institutions, and the causes of civilization that marked the resistance and later on the Emir State.
It also aims to highlight aspects of his brilliance, political and military strategy, Rezki said.
