Ministry of Interior: Provisions for opening of Shahid Mustapha-Ben Boulaid border post

ALGIERS-The Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning announced Saturday in a statement that all provisions had been made as from Friday at the “Shahid (Martyr) Mustapha Ben Boulaid” for its opening to the movement of persons from and to Mauritania and to trade.

The ministry announced that it took all necessary provisions as of Friday (23 February) to open the border crossing “Shahid Mustapha- Ben Boulaid”.

These provisions are in line with “the instructions given by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune when he inaugurated the fixed border crossings between Algeria and Mauritania on 22 February 2024, accompanied by his brother the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Sheikh EL Ghazouani,” said the source.

“These measures reflect the political will of the Presidents of the two countries to promote bilateral cooperation, common development and good neighbourhood,” concluded the ministry’s communiqué.[/ecr]
