The minister, who inspected several projects in the delegate province of Labiodh Sidi Sheikh and the commune of Boussemghoun, as part of the second and last day of his visit to the province of El Bayadh, said that his sector has carried out many studies and projects to protect cities against floods, in addition to others underway, pointing out that the studies will focus on different points of flood hazards.   

He also underlined the recent approval of the first part of the action plan included in the agenda of the Council of ministers of 14 November 2023. This action plan was allocated a budget of DZD155 billion to rehabilitate and expand all the existing  sewage treatment systems nationwide and the building of sewage treatment plants, with a first tranche estimated at DZD34 billion.

The development of specifications has been completed and calls for tenders have been launched in several provinces.

Administrative procedures are underway and the implementation will begin as soon as the companies responsible for carrying out the work are selected.
