In a statement to APS, on the sidelines of Oran’s second International Exhibition on Industrial Synergy “SISIO,” which wrapped up on Saturday at Oran’s Convention Centre, Skander said that “the plant exported USD10 million of more than 7 million m2 of plasterboards.”
The same source underlined that the company has enlarged the factory, which entered into production in 2021, with an investment of €50 million, which helped double plaster production, currently at 650,000 tons per year.
He said that before 2021, the company focused on meeting the domestic demand and the expansion enabled them to boost their export volume to over 7 million m2 of plasterboards, in addition to the 28 million m2 devoted to the local market.
As regards the business and investment climate in Algeria, Knauf Algerie’s director general said that there have been improvements in recent years, hailing the new laws on investment and industrial land acquisition, as well as all the public authorities’ efforts to create a more favorable business climate.
“Improving business climate is likely to increase foreign direct investments,” he said.
