Zahana, who was accompanied by the minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Ali Aoun, said following a visit to the aeromedical evacuation and firefighting base at the airport of Sayada, in the south of Mostaganem, that the "economic activity and development in the different provinces set the guidelines and perceptions concerning ports and airports in the various infrastructures of the transport sector."

The minister said that through its ports and infrastructures, as well as its economic fabric, the province of Mostaganem might be promoted to a national position in several fields in relation to its natural assets and economic capacity.

"The economic value will determine the appropriate policies," Zahana said, adding that "this basic structure (air base) can be a driving force behind other activities and new dimensions in the coming years."
