"The State will spare no effort to take care of the region’s inhabitants whose homes have been affected by the floods, as well as to take care of the material damage also caused by the heavy rainfall of Saturday and Sunday," he said in a working session devoted to the situation in this province following the bad weather that affected eleven (11) municipalities in the province.
"My visit to the province, accompanied by the Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women's Affairs, Kaoutar Krikou, the Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, Lakhdar Rekhroukh, and the Director General of the Civil Protection, Boualem Boughelaf, comes following the instructions given by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to assess the damage caused by the rains and take note of the measures taken to preserve the safety of citizens and their property," the minister specified.
For his part, the Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, Lakhdar Rekhroukh, committed during this working session, attended by the province’s civil and military authorities, to "immediately accomplish the required tasks to open the trunk roads, namely the trunk road 6 connecting Bechar to the northwest of the country and the trunk road 50, connecting Bechar to Tindouf, through the public companies currently building the Bechar-Tindouf railway, in order to allow a rapid resumption of traffic on these two important national roads".
He also committed to having specialized national companies and enterprises intervene to restore the Bechar-Oran railway line to a usable condition for trains, including those transporting goods and fuels, in light of the damage caused by the floods.
Similarly, the Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women's Affairs, Kaoutar Krikou, stated that her department will begin providing support to the affected families starting on Monday.
