Environment, Quality of Life Minister advocates for eco-friendly economic development

BLIDA — The Minister of Environment and Quality of Life, Nadjiba Djilali, underscored on Tuesday in Blida the necessity of achieving economic development that respects environmental standards, particularly in the industrial sector.

During her visit to a private cleaning products factory in the Bouinane industrial zone, the minister emphasized that “economic development must comply with environmental standards and regulations to ensure citizens have a healthy environment.”

She commended the facility for its environmental compliance, noting its industrial water treatment plant.

Djilali also praised the local authorities' efforts in raising awareness and supporting industrialists and investors in developing their own environmental management systems to avoid the direct discharge of industrial waste — both solid and liquid — into the environment.
