Construction of seawater desalination plants has laid foundations for Algerian expertise in major project implementation

BOUMERDES-The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed Tuesday in Boumerdes that the recent construction of seawater desalination plants in a record time had laid the foundations for an Algerian school in implementing major projects.

“As I said when I inaugurated three seawater desalination plants before the Cap Djinet 2 plant, fulfilling the duty for which our valiant shouhada (martyrs) sacrificed themselves during the November Revolution is a source of immense pride. Today, we are making their dreams come true, especially in March, the month of shouhada, when most leaders of the glorious Liberation Revolution were martyred,” stated President Tebboune after following two presentations on the operation and construction of the Cap Djinet 2 seawater desalination plant, which he inaugurated.

“As we commemorate the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Glorious Liberation Revolution, it is important to connect events to achievements so that we remember the accomplishments of our forefathers, who fought against the most powerful armies during the Glorious Revolution. Thanks to Allah, we can only be proud of what our children have achieved for our beloved country,” said President Tebboune.

The President also praised the construction of seawater desalination plants, noting that they were built “with exclusively Algerian engineering.”

“The engineers, technicians, executives, and workers are all Algerians. The Cap Djinet 2 seawater desalination plant, built in a record 26 months, is every Algerian’s dream,” affirmed the President.

“The construction of seawater desalination plants in our country has laid the foundation for an Algerian expertise in project implementation,” stressed President Tebboune, stressing that these strategic projects serve as a model to follow “in implementing major initiatives.”

On this occasion, the President congratulated citizens on this significant achievement, reaffirming that meeting the needs of people across the country “is my main concern.”

Additionally, President Tebboune recalled that the construction of seawater desalination plants aimed to mitigate the impact of insufficient rainfall and preserve the water table. He emphasized that the province of Boumerdes, “which experienced delays during the national tragedy of the 1990s, is now benefiting from various development projects.”

The President renewed his gratitude to all managers and workers for “everything they have done” to make this project a reality, stressing, “This is the path we have mapped out from the beginning: catching up in all areas to join the ranks of emerging and advanced countries. We are on the right track.”

Following the inauguration of this major facility, President Tebboune met with a group of young people seeking to specialize in seawater desalination techniques. He addressed them, saying, “Thank you, you are the first Algerian seawater desalination school. We are counting on you, and I hope you will set an example for other provinces.”

“In this way, there will be genuine integration between the Ministries of Energy, Hydraulics, and Vocational Training. I wish you a bright future,” concluded the President.
