2nd Guide of women’s economic integration launched in October

ALGIERS- Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Affairs Kaouthar Krikou announced Wednesday, in Algiers, the launch in October of the 2nd guide for the economic integration of women in order to support, accompany and enable women to improve their socio-economic situation and their contribution to the achievement of local development.

[ecr]  Chairing the works of a national seminar on rural women’s empowerment in terms of achieving self-sufficiency and improving their socio-economic situation, organized on the occasion of the International Day of Rural Women, under the theme “The creations of rural women meeting international standards,” the minister said that this guide comprises guidance and accompanying mechanisms to support women’s involvement in the national production process.  

She stressed “the pivotal role of women in rural areas, notably in the sustainable local development and the achievement of food security for their families, in addition to meeting the local market’s needs, the durability of family small farms and the preservation of heritage.”

“The State supports this move through the different programmes aimed at accompanying and guiding women, in addition to the rehabilitation of their skills in terms of diversifying the economic activities in rural areas,” said the minister, pointing out the instruction of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune to increase efforts through the strengthening of the mechanisms destined to housewives in order to encourage them to join the production process.  [/ecr]
