The law on child protection has been strengthened in its component relating to environmental awareness, through the communication plan developed by the national solidarity sector for the benefit of the family, said Krikou who chaired a meeting at Abdellatif Rahal International Conference Centre (CIC), on the celebration of World Children’s Day.
Advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of National Education and Higher Education Noureddine Ghouali, and ministers and representatives of national bodies attended the meeting.
She added that the Algerian children receive special protection, in accordance with the international conventions ratified by Algeria, in line with the national legislation.
The meeting was marked by the participation of children who had represented Algeria in the Arab Children's Parliament, who asked questions about the provisions and measures taken to preserve the environment and protect children from the effects of climate change.
In this regard, the ministers emphasized the national efforts to preserve the environment and prevent the effects of climate change, in addition to the provisions and measures taken to protect children.
The meeting was attended by Ministers of National Education Abdelhakim Belabed, of Industry Ahmed Zaghdar, of Communication Mohamed Bouslimani, of Environment and Renewable Energy Samia Moualfi, Minister of Vocational Training and Education Yacine Merabi, as well as National Delegate for the Protection and Promotion of Children Meriem Cherfi.
Minister of Health Abdelhak Saihi also partook in the meeting via videoconference.
