Police foil attempt to flood Algeria with 1,600,000 Pregabalin capsules from neighbouring country

ALGIERS- The Central Service for the Fight against Illicit Traffic of Narcotics has foiled a major attempt to flood Algeria with tablets of psychotropic substances, as it has seized 1,600,000 psychotropic capsules smuggled from a neighbouring country, according to the confessions of individuals involved in the criminal operation.

National security services have foiled a large-scale criminal operation targeting the Algerian youths with a tight plan across the provinces of Annaba, Oran, Ouargla and Algiers, as the Algerian people were bracing for the holy month of Ramadan.

According to a video report the General Directorate of Algerian Police, the Central Service for the Fight against Illicit Traffic of Narcotics "had received tips about the arrival of a huge quantity of tablets of psychotropic substances from a neighbouring country, and which was expected to be shipped to Algiers, through Tamanrasset.

The mastermind of the operation is a notorious illegal drug trafficker named CH. Chouaib alias "Zkaboudj" or "Elhadj," on the run in France and the subject of five international arrest warrants.
