On the sidelines of the 53rd session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, of which Algeria is a member, Cherfi underlined Algeria's achievements in terms of child protection.

The meeting was attended by several ambassadors and representatives of the Council's member countries and organisations, the press release said.

This event "confirms the strong political will of the Algerian State to promote human rights in general, and children's rights in particular, and to enshrine the rule of law in its national policies and international relations, which is one of the main thrusts of the programme of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at building a new Algeria," added the same source.
